The band refused to change the word \u2018higher\u2019 while performing their number one hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the band\u2019s drummer, Ed Sullivan was raging, yelling, \u2018You will never do this show again!\u2019 Jim Morrison turned to him and said, \u2018Hey, that\u2019s okay. Instead of singing the requested line, \u2018Girl, there\u2019s nothing I require,\u2019 Morrison sang the actual lyrics, \u2018Girl, we couldn\u2019t get much higher.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was one of the legendary moments on the Sullivan show, and the ramifications changed how censors approached live TV. The band rocks out behind him against a red and yellow background. Jim\u2019s drummer, guitar player, and organ accompany him in real rockstar fashion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018The Doors\u2019 formed in 1965 and released six studio albums in five years. By 1972 they had sold over four million albums and close to eight million singers.
