Nora and Eileen thought they’d never see each other again. But instead, they ended up coincidentally at the same nursing home and were able to rekindle their beautiful friendship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many besties hope that they\u2019ll get to spend their senior years together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for Nora Boardman and Eileen Gill, it actually happened.
<\/strong>Even after they spent 70 years apart. And it was a total surprise to both of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boardman and Gill were childhood best friends and hadn\u2019t seen each other in decades until they wound up at the same nursing home together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Gill moved to Crispin Court Care Home in Stafford, West Midlands she was totally shocked to see a familiar face.
It was her old school pal Boardman. The women were overjoyed to see one another when they confirmed each other\u2019s identities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd she says are you Nora Keelan?\u201d Boardman recalls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCuz I didn\u2019t recognize her,\u201d said Gill. \u201cAnd I said, \u2018Yeah.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boardman revealed her identity and, as Gill says, \u201cThat was it!\u201d
\u201cI just couldn\u2019t believe it. I really couldn\u2019t believe it,\u201d said Boardman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The women said they were truly glad to be together again and felt like they never skipped a beat.\u201cI never thought I\u2019d see Eileen again after we went our separate ways as children \u2013 so it was so nice to see her. I couldn\u2019t believe she was now going to be living in the same care home as me and we\u2019d get to see each other every day. I feel lucky to have my best friend back in my life, it feels like nothing has changed,\u201d Boardman said, according to DailyMail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two women had both grew up in Eccleshall, Staffordshire in the West Midlands until Gill moved 20 miles away to Brewood when she was 12.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The friends lost touch after that.
Now they live just a few doors down from one another and try to have dinner together every night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe try spend a lot of time together \u2013 if we don\u2019t see each other much during the day, we\u2019ll always have dinner together. Eileen will come behind me and touch my arm to let me know she\u2019s there,\u201d Boardman said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Boardman married and never had any children, while Gill has three children, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both of their husbands have passed. So, Gill makes sure to include Boardman in her family endeavors.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThey have all been very nice to me \u2013 I feel like an extended part of their family. I couldn\u2019t feel happier that we\u2019re now reunited and get to reminisce on our old memories as well as creating new ones,\u201d said Boardman.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

While the two women see themselves as being together in the near future, they still promised that they will keep in touch if one of them ends up moving out of the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, they are having the time of their lives reconnecting just like old times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure what\u2019s going to happen next but one thing I can say is that it\u2019s the happiest I\u2019ve been in months. I\u2019ve been happy here since day one,\u201d said Gill.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
