Animal enthusiasts seeking thrilling adventures often opt for forest trips or visits to foreign zoos. In one such incident in Indonesia’s Bukit Lawang jungle, a woman found herself “captive” when a female orangutan approached, tightly gripping her hand for about three minutes.

The man behind the camera shared the encounter, explaining that during their trip, the guides were uncertain about handling the situation. Orangutans, while not as strong as gorillas, are approximately seven times stronger than humans. Their longer arms and wider shoulders make them powerful creatures.
The woman attempted to pull away, but the orangutan persistently held on, occasionally nibbling on her fingers. Despite attempts by companions to lure the primate away with fruits and nuts, the orangutan clung to the woman. They eventually sat together on the ground, the orangutan still holding her hand.
The situation, lasting about three minutes, concluded when the orangutan finally released her hand after accepting some fruits. While some might find the incident amusing, it highlights the potential dangers of close encounters with wild animals. Understanding their nature and maintaining a safe distance is crucial when observing them in their habitat. Watch the video for the full experience.
